WINTERVILLE�The Pitt Community College Foundation announced this week that Phillip Jackson has been named the 2008 recipient of the �Diane Murphrey Make It Happen Endowed Scholarship.� Jackson, a Winterville resident and the son of Rick and Pam Jackson is taking University Transfer courses at PCC with plans to transfer to Mt. Olive College. He said his goal is to study religion at Mt. Olive in order to become a youth minister. Murphrey, an Ayden resident and former PCC Board of Trustees member, started the �Make It Happen Scholarship� in 2006 to assist students pursuing degrees in business or administration. A year later, Grifton resident Antonio Hawkins became the scholarship�s first recipient. |
