WINTERVILLESuccess at the junior college level has opened the door for several Pitt Community College sophomores to continue their baseball careers at four-year colleges and universities.

Following a season in which the Bulldogs went 41-15 and reached the Eastern District Championships, two pitchersJake Brown and Chip Wallhave signed with four-year schools along with infielder Logan Isaacs and outfielder Lucas Martin.

Brown, a two-year starter, signed with Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga. The Maryland native was stellar in two seasons at PCC, finishing with a 19-5 record and 121 strikeouts in 158 innings.

As a freshman, he earned Second Team All-Region X honors after going 8-4.

A North Pitt graduate, Wall will take the hill next season for Wingate University, a private college located just outside of Charlotte. After going 6-3 his freshman season, the 6-foot-3 right-hander recorded a 7-1 record in 2008 with a 2.88 ERA and 43 strikeouts.

Martin, a Second Team All-Region X Conference selection as a sophomore, has signed with Montreat College near Asheville.
