WINTERVILLESummer courses are under way at Pitt Community College, and the school is experiencing a seven percent increase in enrollment compared to the same point a year ago. According to PCC Registrar Joanne Ceres, 2,790 students were enrolled in Pitts summer semester as of May 23, which was up 183 students from the same point in 2007. Ceres noted that the number of full-time students taking courses at Pitt this summer increased significantly. She said 282 full-time students are enrolled at the college this summer compared to 218 last year, a 29 percent increase. Even though a new semester has already started at PCC, Ceres says students can still register for the colleges second summer mini-session, which begins June 24. She said those interested in taking second mini-session courses have until June 23 to stop by her office in Pitts Vernon White Building to sign up. A complete listing of PCCs delayed start classes this summer is available on the colleges website by clicking HERE. For students interested in taking fall semester courses at PCC, Ceres said Priority Registration begins July 2. The college will hold New Student Orientation and registration on July 16, she said. Those wanting to enroll at PCC this fall can visit the schools website and complete an online application if they have not been enrolled at the college within the previous two years. Fall classes begin August 15.
