WINTERVILLE�The Pitt Community College volleyball team played at home for the first time in a month and simply overwhelmed visiting Southeastern Community College 3-0 (30-5, 30-8, 30-8) on Wednesday. The Bulldogs, ranked 20th in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association Division I poll, recorded 29 aces against the Rams in picking up their 14th straight victory. �We just overwhelmed them,� said PCC coach William Way. �We controlled every aspect of the game and did what we were supposed to do.� Jamie Morris finished with seven aces for Pitt to go along with 10 assists. Carissa Faragke added 10 assists and two kills while Casey Williams (six kills) and Anita Roberson (five kills) paced the PCC offense. Up next for the �Dawgs (23-4 overall, 14-0 in Region X) is the Hagerstown Invitational Tournament on Saturday and Sunday. PCC will play in the same pool as a pair of nationally-ranked Division II teams�#15 Community College of Rhode Island (28-4 overall) and #20 Hagerstown Community College (20-10 overall). �We�ll have our work cut out for us this weekend,� Way said. �We�ll use it as preparation for the Regionals (in November).� Following this weekend�s tourney in Maryland, Pitt will play six games in 10 days�all at home�against Region X opponents.
