WENTWORTHThe Pitt Community College volleyball team extended its winning streak to 12 on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Rockingham, 30-18, 30-21, 30-15.
After a tough day of travel through the weekends storms, the Bulldogs came out flat against RCC before the trio of Casey Williams, Anita Roberson and Sierra Ham kicked into gear.
Our leaders stepped up and didnt allow us to get into danger, PCC coach William Way said. We served well and played strong defensively. Our offense was not as good as it has been this season, but it was good enough.
Williams tallied 11 kills to pace the Dawgs. Roberson and Ham posted eight each.
Led by Carissa Faragke with three, the Bulldogs racked up 11 aces against Rockingham. Faragke also added 10 assists while teammate Jamie Morris notched a team-high 16.
We found a way to get it done, said Way, whose squad moved to 21-4 overall, 12-0 in Region X Conference play and is currently ranked 23rd in the National Junior College Athletic Association.
