| WINTERVILLE�Pitt Community College�s Criminal Justice Department recently presented scholarships to students Felisha Black and Danielle Morris in recognition of their classroom excellence. A Greenville native, Black is a second-year PCC criminal justice student with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. The 27-year-old, who is married with three children, plans to obtain a master�s degree in her field of study and work as a magistrate and criminal justice instructor. Morris, also a Greenville native, has a 3.4 gpa in her second year of the criminal justice program. An operational member of the Coastal Carolina Search Team, she plans to complete her associate degree at PCC and attend Basic Law Enforcement Training to become a K-9 officer and crime scene investigator. Both Black and Morris are active members of Pitt�s Criminal Justice Association and will receive $250 through the John Minges Criminal Justice Scholarships they have been awarded. According to PCC Criminal Justice Instructor Altrice Gales, applicants for the Minges Scholarship must be second-year students with a minimum 3.0 grade point average and at least 24 credit hours earned from PCC�s Criminal Justice program. Applicants, she said, must also submit a completed application accompanied by two letters of recommendation and a writing sample.
