Fans Asked to Bring Canned Food Item in Lieu of Admission Fee

WINTERVILLE—Pitt Community College Basketball will play a Blue-White Scrimmage Wednesday afternoon in preparation for the 2009-10 season.

According to PCC Athletic Director Junior Bailey, this week’s basketball scrimmage will follow the PCC Student Government Association’s Fall Fest activities and begin at 1:45 p.m. in the Charles Coburn Center. Prior to the game, there will be a “Meet the Bulldogs” event during which fans can meet members of this year’s basketball team, he said.

Wednesday’s game is open to the public. In lieu of an admission fee, PCC Athletics is asking attendees to bring a canned food item to the game. Food collected from the event will be donated to the local food bank, Bailey said.

Also on Wednesday, PCC Volleyball (17-13) will host Lenoir Community College at 7 p.m. in the Coburn Center. It will be the final home game of the season for the Bulldogs and final game in the Coburn Center for sophomore Jessica Sweers.
