SMITHFIELD—Pitt Community College used a seven-point run to break open a close first set with Johnston Community College Saturday en route to a 3-0, non-conference victory. Trailing 16-15 in the first frame, the Bulldogs ran off seven straight points on freshman Morghan Stallings’ serve to go up 22-16. PCC ended up winning the set, 25-22, before taking the second, 25-12, and the third, 25-20. Haley Galimore put away 10 kills to help Pitt notch its 17th victory of the season and third straight. Stallings had nine kills while Natalie Salter paced the Bulldogs defensively with 10 digs. Sophomore Jessica Sweers, who had 12 assists against JCC, will play her final home game in the Charles Coburn Center Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Lenoir Community College.
