JAMESTOWN, N.C.—Pitt Community College made the most of 13 kills from freshman Morghan Stallings and recorded a .610 attack percentage as a team Wednesday to dismantle Guilford Technical Community College, 3-1. After winning the first set, 30-28, on their sixth game point, the Bulldogs took set two, 25-20. Pitt dropped the third frame, 25-17, but rallied in the fourth to close out the match with a 25-20 victory. Courtney Everette added 10 kills for PCC and recorded a .333 attack percentage. Teammate Haley Galimore added eight kills, and Jessica Sweers turned in 25 assists and two of the Bulldogs’ four service aces on the night. Eleni Bates had 19 assists for the Dawgs, who are now 7-5 overall and 3-0 in Region X Conference play. PCC is scheduled to play its first home match of the 2009 season Friday in a Region X battle with Cape Fear Community College at 7 p.m. in the Charles Coburn Center. The Bulldogs play at home Saturday as well, taking on conference foe Blue Ridge Community College at 1 p.m.
