WINTERVILLE—Area job-seekers can rest assured that the N.C. JobLink Career Center’s services will not change even though the Pitt County facility has a new home and manager. On July 1, the N.C. Employment Security Commission assumed management responsibility of JobLink from Pitt Community College. As a result, the center moved from its location adjacent to the PCC campus to the ESC office on Bismarck Street in Greenville. “The Employment Security Commission is pleased that we have been selected to be the JobLink for Pitt County,” said Danny Alston, manager of the Greenville ESC office. “We will continue to offer the services that were available at the previous JobLink and continue to offer all the services we have always provided." PCC, which managed the local JobLink for more than a decade, will still play an active role in providing training at the center. “We’re still a major partner in JobLink services,” said Ernis Lee, Pitt’s Director of College Outreach. Lee said the college would continue preparing JobLink patrons for employment through its Continuing Education Division and Human Resource Development courses. He added that dislocated workers and adult job-seekers receiving Workforce Investment Act funding could continue to enroll in PCC curricula as well.
