WINTERVILLEPitt Community College announced this week that students Kevin Naus and Brian Caton have been awarded scholarships by the Pitt County Electrical Contractors Association (PCECA).

Naus, a Winterville resident, and Caton, who is from Stokes, will each receive $500 from PCECA. The awards come through the associations John Payne Electrical Scholarship Fund, which was established to honor the former Pitt County electrical inspector and encourage individuals to pursue careers in the electrical trade.

Naus and Caton are finishing up their first year at PCC and will begin their second and final year of the Electrical/Electronics program in August. The scholarship money they received this month will help pay for their tuition and books.

PCECA President Jimmy Benson presented Naus and Caton with their scholarships on July 13, during the associations monthly meeting. Fellow PCECA officers Dick Haddock (Vice President), Tommy Joyner (Program Chairman), James Bland (Secretary) and Osborne Clark (Treasurer) were also on hand for the presentation.
