WINTERVILLEThe Pitt Community College Foundation announced this week that the Grainger Foundation recently made a $5,000-donation to the college.

According to Susan Nobles, executive director of the PCC Foundation, Graingers contribution will fund five $1,000-scholarships for students in Pitts Construction and Industrial Technology Division.

We are very pleased to receive these scholarships from Grainger, Nobles said. Their contribution is going to support students who will soon join and strengthen our communitys workforce. We appreciate the partnership and support Grainger has provided PCCs skilled trades programs.

The Grainger Foundations gift came at the recommendation of Neil Zingler, manager of the companys Greenville branch.

Grainger has a strong commitment to technical education across the country, Zingler said. We are proud to support Pitt Community College and its goal to build a skilled local workforce.

Zingler said Grainger has served Greenville for nearly 30 years and is committed to helping the communities in which its employees and customers live and work.

The industrial supply company has been serving North Carolina businesses for more than 60 years by providing supplies and equipment needed to keep their facilities running, Zingler said, adding that the company has 11 locations across the state, including the Greenville branch.
