Four PCC Sophomores Sign with Four-Year Schools
 PCC Baseball posted a 14-2 record at Minges-Overton Baseball Complex this season. | WINTERVILLE—Pitt Community College baseball, which ended the season with a loss to Surry Community College in the Region X Conference Tournament, finished among the top 50 junior colleges in Perfect Game Crosschecker's final poll for 2009. The Bulldogs, who finished the year 36-8 overall, were ranked 29th in the PGC poll released June 3. Spartanburg Methodist College (#5) and USC-Sumter (#12) are the only other Region X teams in the rankings. The National Junior College Athletic Association's poll of Division I baseball programs released May 6 listed PCC at No. 17. Since the season’s end, four Bulldog sophomores have signed with four-year schools to continue their playing careers next season. Pitchers Corey Carver and Kasey Ourada have signed with Campbell University and Illinois State, respectively, infielder Grant Kelley signed with Greensboro College, and outfielder Cody Walker will play for UNC-Greensboro next season.
