 Ray Hardee displays the teaching award he was presented this month at the N.C. Electrical Institute in Raleigh. | WINTERVILLE�The N.C. State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors held its 80th Annual N.C. Electrical Institute in Raleigh this month and named Pitt Community College�s Wiley Ray Hardee Jr. the 2008 Continuing Education Instructor of the Year. Hardee has been a consistent resource for the electrical industry as an educator and mentor to electricians, contractors and inspectors. He currently teaches electrical courses in all trade classifications through PCC and Lenoir Community College. The N.C. State Board of Examiners presented Hardee with his award in appreciation of his dedication and skill and for serving as an inspiration to others in the electrical field. Upon receiving his award, Hardee said he was grateful for the dedication and friendship he has received throughout the many years he has been associated with the electrical industry. With numerous years of experience and a number of electrical certifications and licenses, Hardee is the City of Kinston�s Inspections Administrator. He has been an active member of the N.C. Ellis Cannady Chapter of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors for eight years and is an approved instructor for the N.C. Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors and the N.C. Department of Insurance Code Qualifications Board. Ray Hardee and his wife, Carol, have one daughter, Shannon Wainright, and two sons, Wesley and Ryan. Hardee is also the proud grandfather of seven. With this month�s presentation at the Hilton North Raleigh, Hardee became the sixth person to receive the Continuing Education Instructor of the Year Award. The previous five recipients are Lloyd Harold Maynard, Don Allen Hursey, Albert Thomas Russell, Robert Ivy Gossett and William Gerald Harvell.
