Lisa Elmore | WINTERVILLE—Pitt Community College’s Lisa Elmore has been elected president of the N.C. Association of Educational Office Professionals (NCAEOP). A Snow Hill resident, Elmore is the administrative assistant to PCC’s Vice President of Institutional Advancement. She was chosen to serve as NCAEOP’s president-elect for 2009-10 during its annual conference in Greensboro last month and will take office during the 2010-11 academic year. Elmore, who has more than 20 years of service at PCC, has been involved with NCAEOP since 2002. “NCAEOP is the best professional organization I have ever been a part of,” she said. “I have met many new, wonderful friends and have grown personally and professionally through my membership and service in this organization.” As the group’s president, Elmore said her goals would include encouraging NCAEOP membership (she hopes membership will reach 3,000) and increasing attendance at the organization’s annual conference. Started in 1951, NCAEOP promotes professionalism by educational office personnel and is dedicated to improving service to students, educators and the community. The association also assists educational office personnel in participating effectively in public policy issues pertaining to education. NCAEOP membership is open to educational office personnel and administrators within the North Carolina educational system, public and private.
