WILMINGTONMichelle Bracey recorded 14 kills but couldnt rally Pitt Community College past visiting Cape Fear as the Sea Devils avenged an earlier season loss to the Bulldogs, 3-1 (30-25, 30-32, 36-34, 30-20).

A freshman from Williamston, Bracey added six blocks and four digs for PCC. Courtney Koch tallied nine kills and eight blocks for the Dawgs, who fell to 5-8 overall, 5-2 in the Region X Conference with the loss. Camille Holland led Pitt in assists (34) and digs (22).

The Bulldogs, who defeated Cape Fear 3-0 on Sept. 5 in Wilmington, were their own worst enemy in the rematch. As a team, PCC committed 14 service errors, 20 attack errors, 28 blocking errors and four ball-handling errors. All told, more than half (66) of the Sea Devils 126 points on the night were the result of PCC mistakes.

Having lost two of their last three Region X matches, the Bulldogs will look to get back on track this weekend and theyll have to do it on the road. Pitt travels to USC-Salkehatchie Friday, Blue Ridge Community College Saturday and Spartanburg Methodist on Sunday.
