EMERGENCY PROCEDURES FOR STUDENTS

The following emergency procedures have been developed to provide you with a safe and secure environment.  It is imperative that you follow these procedures and additional emergency instructions provided by College and emergency personnel during actual emergencies.  Failure to do so may result in harm to other students, faculty/staff, and yourself.

1.     FOR BUILDING EVACUATIONS (bomb threats; fire; chemical spill; other), immediately vacate the building by the nearest exit and assemble at the specified building evacuation location provided by your instructor or College administrators.  Evacuation maps are posted in each classroom and laboratory.  DO NOT USE ELEVATORS!

·       Do not use your cell phone or computers while in the building if there is a bomb threat.  These devices may detonate the bomb.

·       Move away from all windows and doors and sit on the floor against an interior wall for protection and concealment.

3.     FOR SEVERE WEATHER/TORNADO, immediately move to hallways or inner rooms away from doors and windows.

·       Sit on the floor and shield your head with your head with your hands and arms.
